How I transformed my Boring Yard into a Beautiful Yarden

What is a Yarden?

First off, you may be wondering. What is a yarden? This relatively new meaning of this word is very new. It means a yard garden. Some say the difference between these words is that a yarden focuses around being functional and growing produce, as a pose to the purely aesthetic garden.

Yard with no sunlight

What happens if you have a yarden that gets hardly any sun? All is not lost. Think about getting some plants that look great but also don’t mind the shade. Trust me, there are many! That does not like too much sunlight. They may need a little extra care, like adding coffee grounds in the garden. Ok, and if your garden is quite small, think about building up. The further up you go  , the nearer to the sun you will be. Easy right? If you do not want to go that extreme, think about  a plant that will build up itself, without you having to do any work. Take a clematis for example. This will work its way up a trellis or wall very easily, soon transforming your garden into a floral space every spring.

How to make a small garden look bigger

So, my small garden used to look small, first off it had a bunch of ivy growing up one side of the wall, which needed thinning out. Next, it had three tiers which meant it was not a good use of space. If this is the same situation with you, think about levelling it off to one level, or at least two which is what I did. This in turn left a lot less useless awkward space and more space to put things. Automatically making the place look larger.

To add to this, we have another fact. Seating and furniture . This is super important when it comes to small gardens, because on the one side the space all has to be used to its fullest potential. But this does not mean putting something there for the sake of it, so do you see my problem?I opted for building in seating around the side from a wall that was not doing much . To do this I covered it over with a indian sandstone slab . This instantly reduces the need for masses of chairs and tables, and maximises space that is around the garden. It can also be used to place potted plants on to mke the place look brighter.

Gardens without grass uk

We all know gardens without grass can be soul destroying from time to time. There is nothing better sometimes than to lay down in the grass. But what if you can have these same vibes with your yard? Your yarden too can be a place to relax and chill out.

You could also install a fire pit to make it look cool, or a fire chimney to heat up those late night gatherings.

Small terraced house backyard ideas

People often associate yards and gardens with terraced houses. Which is actually true, i can think of many times when this has been the case. For the most part people think they just have to settle for a backyard, and not really go outside much because it is an ugly, unused space. I also have friends who are embarrassed that they do not have a garden. Please set these thoughts aside. A yard can look great. Just invest in some accent furniture, such as blues or yellow chairs and tables, and it can make the colours pop. In no time it will transform this space. This too, add some potted plants and even a raised bed, and you will be away. In my yarden I used galvanized steel planters to give that industrial vibe, but also it gives an added bit of interest. You can even find anything to plant something in. Perhaps an old sink or even a toilet.

Rectangular garden ideas

I don’t know why people think a rectangular garden is such a big issue. I think they’re perfectly functional. That being said it can be pretty cool to have a circular garden. The good part about a circular garden is that it can be split up into sections. Or even cubes. Having this sort of theme garden creates a narrative garden, and one that can be separated into sections and scenes.

Ideas for long narrow gardens

This can be an issue. The garden that fizzles out to further than the eye travels can be problematic. Many people in the uk have a garden that backs onto a river or a stream having said that there are a lot of opportunities for this to be a great thing. Because you have added privacy. Think about sectioning your borders to flower equally in the seasons so there is always something happening. This is great and looks great for guests and visitors alike.

Gardens without grass

People are always asking me about garden designs without grass. This can be simple. Grass is not the most important part of a garden. And I think people forget that because it is such a big part of culture. But honestly, who wants to mow a lawn every few weeks? I had an issue where I woke up one day and thought Why are mushrooms growing in my yard??? It is a lot of time and effort to maintain, you can also get annoying mushrooms showing up. My garden does not have grass, it has paving slabs with some gravel. Gravel gardens with pots look really great. They can look super cute and functional, and most importantly no effort. This is how I transformed my yard. Where there was a muddy patch, I added gravel so it looked fantastic.

So – once again i have proved Small garden design ideas low maintenance are possible, and they are actually fun and modern, and a way to get more light into the plot if that was something you were worried about.

O may do an article about gravel and where and how it can be  used. So stay tuned for that. Because there are special plants you can use for this amazing style too. It’s really up to you.
